Big News for the Missouri Yoga Community!

December 10, 2015

As you know, earlier this year Yoga Alliance heard from members of Missouri’s yoga community that the Missouri Department of Higher Education would be requiring yoga teacher training program providers to comply with extensive regulatory requirements and to pay expensive fees. Since then, we have been working hard on your behalf to protect the rights of Missouri’s YTTs to operate without unnecessary intrusion.

We are pleased to announce that yesterday, Representative Elijah Haahr pre-filed a bill in the Missouri House of Representatives that would prevent state regulators from imposing burdensome and unnecessary regulations on YTTs. We thank Rep. Haahr for his efforts to support Missouri’s yoga community, and we look forward to the state legislature’s consideration of this important legislation when it returns to session early next year.

As our efforts continue, we ask that you:
  • Watch for updates from us. Over the coming weeks, we will keep you apprised of the status of our bill. In short order, it will become critical that we make our voices heard. We know that when we send out this call, you’ll be ready.
  • Help support this effort. Yoga Alliance has been working hard to advocate for the rights of the Missouri yoga community. We’d appreciate your help so that we can continue to make progress. Please support our effort with a financial contribution. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated, and should be made via PayPal.
