Minnesota State Licensure Survey
Last Updated: September 2, 2021
Dear Member of the Minnesota Yoga Community,
Yoga Alliance was recently made aware that the Minnesota Office of Higher Education has contacted Registered Yoga Schools (RYSs) regarding the potential need for yoga teacher training programs to be licensed and regulated by the state. We have also heard from a few Yoga Alliance members who received letters from the state inquiring as to whether their schools should be compliant with the Minnesota Statute that regulates Private Career School Licensure. To determine how Yoga Alliance may best assist these members and others moving forward, we would like to hear more about your Minnesota experiences and licensure-related issues that are important to you.
We ask that you please complete a short survey so that we can better understand the perspectives of the yoga community in the state. Your feedback is important to us and will help us determine possible next steps. We look forward to hearing from you, as we strive to support a thriving yoga community in Minnesota. If you have any questions regarding this preliminary information and survey, please email yaadvocacy@yogaalliance.org.
If you have not been contacted by the state, there is no need to contact them.
Yoga Alliance has a responsibility to protect and support you, our members, and the broader yoga community so you may freely practice and teach highly quality, safe, accessible, and equitable yoga free from unnecessary or unwanted government regulation. Our advocacy work includes closely monitoring relevant legislation and updating our members with information that may affect your livelihoods, as well as interpreting legislative changes for your convenience.
Thank you for all you do for your communities.
Your Yoga Alliance
