April 18, 2016
We are pleased to share breaking news about Alaska House Bill 305 – the Alaska Senate passed this legislation unanimously by a vote of 20-0 last night! The Alaska House of Representatives also passed this important legislation by a vote of 38-0 on March 30. Now that this bill, championed by Yoga Alliance, has been unanimously approved by both chambers of the Alaska State Legislature, it will head to the governor’s desk for his signature!
It’s time to show your appreciation for the hard work of the elected representatives who joined our effort to protect YTTs throughout the state by sending a “thank you” email to the legislators who made this possible. Below is the contact information for our bill sponsors and committee chairs:
We want to extend a big thank you to all of the Alaska yogis who have been involved in supporting this bill, which not only helps small businesses, but the entire yoga community as well! Please stay tuned for more updates as we reach the finish line.
Yoga Alliance is proud to have joined the Alaska yoga community on this critical effort. While YTTs in this state will soon be free from unnecessary intrusion, other YTTs around the country are under pressure. In the coming days, Yoga Alliance will turn its attention to developments in other states threatening yoga businesses and their customers. Please help pay it forward with a financial contribution to make sure that yoga is not only protected in Alaska, but across the country.

We’re proud to work on your behalf to protect our yoga community.
