Therese began practicing yoga in 2009 after surgery and radiation for breast cancer,as a way to build trust in her body again. As she started to achieve growth in her physical practice and abilities, she also became aware of mental and emotional shifts. Her confidence grew as she managed to find fulfillment in all her roles in life: personally as a mother and a spouse, and also professionally with her career in pharmaceutical research and as a certified yoga instructor and ultimately studio owner. Although Therese’s cancer returned in 2013, she maintained her dedication to physical and emotional health and most importantly to awareness. She continued her practice during chemotherapy, radiation, and more surgeries. Her oncologist credits her yoga practice to her recovery and to remaining cancer-free. She currently maintains dual careers in pharmaceutical research and development and yoga teaching and training.
Therese achieved her 200 Hour registered yoga teacher certification in 2012 at Southtown Yoga under the guidance of Mitchel Bleier. She received her 500 Hour registered yoga teacher certification under the guidance of Kelli Precourt at Balance 30A Health Studio in Sea Grove Beach, Florida in May 2017. Therese’s favorite style of yoga to teach and practice is a vinyasa-based flow, focusing on stability, strength, and flexibility. Her classes are deceivingly challenging, as she strives to make each class unique and ultimately FUN. Her greatest desire in serving her students and yoga community is to create a warm and welcoming environment for all levels of practice, focusing on the openness of yoga and the freedom of expression through movement. Therese’s greatest passion is getting lost in the bliss of her yoga practice.
