Laura Guilliams (she/her pronouns), MA, RYT-500, C-IAYT is a trauma-informed yoga teacher specializing in yoga for survivors of interpersonal violence, including survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence, and adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. She currently offers free and accessible classes through SARA Roanoke, the sexual assault crisis center for the Roanoke Valley in Southwest Virginia where she also serves as Director of Support Services, providing counseling, advocacy, and yoga therapy. As a teacher, Laura seeks to provide students with a safe, compassionate, and inclusive space to navigate their own healing through the teachings and practices of yoga.
Laura earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication at Radford University, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership at University of Central Florida, and a 200-hour & 300-hour Yoga Teacher Certification from The Breathing Space in Blacksburg, VA. She is a Certified Accessible Yoga Teacher and an Ambassador for Accessible Yoga, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to sharing the teachings and benefits of yoga to marginalized communities through communities through education and advocacy. She earned an 800-hour yoga therapy certification under the supervision and mentorship of Sarahjoy Marsh & The Institute for Living Yoga in Portland, Oregon and is a Certified Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
