Los Angeles: August Community Meet-Up Recap

On August 11, Yoga Alliance® hosted a Community Meet-Up in Los Angeles for more than two dozen members of the local yoga community.

Yoga Alliance president Richard Karpel (2012 – 2014) joined five members of the YA board of directors at the meeting, including chairman Brandon Hartsell (E-RYT 500), Gyandev R. McCord (E-RYT 500), Roger A. Rippy (E-RYT 200), Margie Deutsch Lash (E-RYT 200) and Andrew Tanner (E-RYT 500).

Along with Gyandev and Roger, fellow Standards Committee members Deborah T. Bennett (E-RYT 200, RCYT), Susan M. Camean (E-RYT 200), Melissa Cooper (RYT 200) and Marion (Mugs) McConnell (E-RYT 500) also attended the event, held at the LAX Marriott.

Richard introduced the board and staff members in attendance and offered a brief presentation, inviting the LA-area yogis to share their thoughts with him and the other YA representatives at a reception featuring light refreshments.

Among the attendees who entered our raffle drawings, Michele Anderson won a prAna yoga mat and Carole Prentice won a prAna yoga blanket.
